Changing or decommissioning generation
Decommissioning generation
It is important that you notify us if you decommission your generation so that we can update our records. You can do this via our online form on our Connections site:
Changing generation
If you intend to replace existing generation the new equipment must comply with the current versions of ENA Engineering Recommendation G98 or G99, as appropriate. If the new equipment is different in any way from the existing generation you must notify us of these changes.
If the aggregate rating of the generation will be less than 16A (3.68kW) per phase after the changes have been completed and the new equipment meets the requirements of the current version of G98, then you may carry out these changes and notify us by submitting Generation Decommissioning Forms and a Commissioning Confirmation Forms within 28 days of the work taking place.
If the aggregate rating of the generation will be above 16A (3.68kW) per phase after the changes have been completed, or the equipment does not meet the requirements of the current version of G98, you must apply to us and agree the details before the new generation is installed and commissioned. You may also be eligible for a fast-track application under the G99 Fast Track pathway. To find more information about applying for, or notifying us of, new or changing generation please visit:
