ENA: Energy Innovation Basecamp Event

Mar 05 2024 - Mar 05 2024

Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, M1 4PH

Following the success of last year’s innovation Basecamp, networks operators have come together to publish a brand new set of 'Problem Statements', that will shape the work of this year’s Energy Innovation Basecamp. These Problem Statements outline specific, technical challenges that energy networks are seeking innovative solutions for in 2024, with the focus ranging from flood alarms to fleet decarbonisation. You can review the Problem Statements here, have your questions answered using our Basecamp Virtual Q&A and then join us in-person at our Basecamp 2024 launch event at the Mercure Manchester, on 5 March. You can then make your idea submissions via the Smarter Networks Portal shortly after the launch event. Ofgem will also be launching the Round 4 Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) Challenges at this event, so if you are looking to get involved in Energy Networks Innovation this year, this is one not to be missed! Basecamp idea submissions can be submitted through the Smarter Networks Portal shortly after the Launch Event.

The submission window will be open for six weeks, but we encourage you to submit your proposals early, as networks will be able to view submissions as soon as they come in! Successful proposals will fast-track to discussions with network representatives or progress to our Basecamp Pitching Event on June 24th-26th.
