We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, supporting their vital conservation and biodiversity work, and their Wilder Lives Programme. As part of this collaboration, we will be sponsoring the Trust’s initiatives, while providing volunteering days for our employees to get out in nature and support the Trust’s vital work in the community. Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the natural environment in Nottinghamshire. They work tirelessly to conserve wildlife and wild places, ensuring that future generations can enjoy the beauty and diversity of nature.
The Trust's nature reserves are havens for wildlife, providing essential habitats for many species. Managing over 40 nature reserves across the county, ranging from ancient woodlands to vibrant wildflower meadows, the Trust offers free access to enjoy and explore the beauty of nature. They also engage with local communities through educational programs, events, and volunteer opportunities, fostering a deeper connection with nature and promoting sustainable practices.
Our support will bolster the Trust's Wilder Lives Programme, which empowers communities to enhance their wellbeing through connections with wildlife and wild places.
The Trust hosts numerous events and activities, providing excellent resources to educate people about nature and ways to take action for wildlife, both on-site and at home. Their efforts are part of a broader network of 46 local Wildlife Trusts working to protect wildlife across the UK.
This June, National Grid Electricity Distribution and Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust invite communities in Nottinghamshire to participate in 30 Days Wild, a free, month-long challenge designed to inspire people of all ages to connect with nature. Upon signing up, participants will receive a free pack filled with fascinating facts and inspiring activities to help them achieve their wild challenge. More information can be found here.
