We empower children and young people with electrical safety education

As the new school year begins, we are reminding teachers and community leaders about the free educational resources and workshops they provide.

In 2024, we have already shared safety messages with nearly 80,000 children and young people in the South West, the Midlands and South Wales during more than 4,000 educational sessions.

These educational sessions have taken place at schools, in communities and at various events, including the Royal Welsh Show, National Eisteddfod, the Three Counties Show and the Bath and West Show.

We are empowering children and young people with knowledge that will keep them safe in their daily lives by understanding electrical safety, as well as inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders.”

Primary school teachers can access an interactive lesson on electrical safety, designed by teachers for teachers. This ready-to-deliver lesson is linked to the national curriculum, ensuring that electrical safety is taught at an early age.

Our science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) outreach and ambassador programme works with schools and youth organisations to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.

The programme supports young people in a range of green energy challenges, skills workshops and other practical sessions to show them how exciting STEM can be. Many of these events are led by staff who volunteer their time to take part and share their experience and passion for STEM careers.
